Hello David and Denise

 

We were very happy to see Paul's van pull up last week and even happier when we saw the contents!  

 

You have done a wonderful job David and utterly transformed 6 very sad and neglected chairs, restoring them to a condition where they both look beautiful and can continue to daily serve a useful purpose.  The new rush seats bring so much texture and character to the chairs and your restoration of the woodwork is exactly what I hoped for: all the evidence of former lives remains but the wood gleams softly, without being too highly polished.  Perfection.  I am so pleased.

 

So many, many thanks for all your hours of work and for bringing your skill and experience to bear on those poor old things.  They are poor no longer.  I am about to send a picture to their former owner: they were the dining chairs she knew throughout all her childhood and I am sure, like me, she will be delighted to see that they are now clean and beautiful and can continue to fight another day.  Your work does a great job of preserving our heritage and keeping the uncommon skills of English craftsmen and women alive, so thank you for that, too.
